Project description and objectives
The international project "Professional Exchange" enables young people to gain work experience and often first experiences of contact with people from other backgrounds and cultures.
This project is a 6-7 day youth exchange. It involves vocational students from the following sectors: woodworking, gardening, photography, gastronomy, bricklaying, outdoor and indoor painting, tourism, floristics. Apart from gaining professional competences and learning to work in intercultural groups, the project is also focused on the promotion of pro-ecological and sustainable development activities.
The project has its origins in 2006 and is organised at different frequencies (1-3 times a year). In 2016-2020, participants in the professional exchange projects managed to renovate the station building in the village of Krzyżowa in Lower Silesia, restore the veranda and build beehives by the House on the Hill on the premises of the Krzyżowa Foundation and decorate the facilities of the Krzyżowa Foundation during Advent and Christmas. A project to renovate the buildings at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum is planned for the coming years, as well as further catering projects focusing on the ecological way of preparing meals.
